A website isn't just a display of content. A website is a carrier for your message, your business offering.

A website tells people your story, and how your story can empower them. Your website headline is the first element conveying your message and unfolding your brand story. So what is the formula of a good one ?

Words are powerful

When a visitor first lands on your website, the initial words he reads are from your business headline. It should clearly outline the value you bring to your customers to solve their problem. Do you spot the equation 😏?

Good headline = value + customer pain point.

Here are 3 simple steps to write a good headline:

  1. List your target audience needs and challenges.
  2. Write down your solution features.
  3. Link your solution to your audience problems: turn your solution's features into benefits..

You can use this website headline formula as a begining :

“What you are”+ “What you do”+ “For whom” + “With which benefit”

Example:

👉 What you are= The free Newsletter/Tale.

👉 What you do= that tells how to grow a business in Luxembourg.

👉 For whom = for marketers and Luxembourg entrepreneurs.

👉 With which benefit= using digital.

Result: The tale that tells you how to grow your business in Luxembourg using digital ✨.

Within your headline section, you can add :

  • A sub-headline to outline your most important business feature or your major customer pain point. Don’t use jargon.
  • A clear CTA (Call to action) encouraging your visitors to take a specific action.

Example:

👉 Sub-heading: Get the free Newsletter filled with 360° Digital Marketing tips, hacks, and actionable advice to develop your business in Luxembourg.

👉 CTA : Subscribe Now 👇

Golden tips

Include important keywords (1- 3) in your headline.

⭐ Position your headline above the line, visible without scrolling.

⭐ Use emotional power words to grab your visitors attention and influence their actions. Example:  new, free, unlimited, unique, authentic...
